....now, you see...I don't like going there. Itaewon, I mean. If not for the pangs of hunger, I would not have gone there.
Yesterday, I was yearning for nasi goreng so much, and my supplies of halal food have run out. So, off I went to take the subway from Hoegi to Itaewon , about 7 stops away.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to venture there alone at night. Bring a friend along, if you must. I have nothing against the place, but it just gives me an uncomfortable feeling. Perhaps too many bars there and lots of small alleys.
Anyway, I was greeted by familiar Pakistani and Korean faces at the Usmania Restaurant. Ordered my nasi goreng, and was surprised to be treated with a dish of chicken curry and a plate of fruits on the house.
The staff offered me some rice pudding for dessert (on the house, mind you), but I declined. So paiseh....how can one person eat so much...."I also got face, mah "...... (please see note on SINGLISH for the meaning of this expression).
I walked towards the subway station as fast as I could after lunch.
