This drama is 진짜 진짜 long.
But It is 진짜 진짜 좋아, and
I 진짜 진짜 좋아 this drama.
I have always liked 유진 and I think she and 남상미 are 2 similar actresses with similar calibres and attraction. They brighten up the screen in whatever characters they play.

이민기? Yeah, I asked myself that when I first saw his name and face....where have I seen that face before? Where? Where? Ah! Geum Soon.
He has eyebrows to die for. But the moment he smiles, he looks comical. So, the only time I thought he looked 진짜 진짜 good was in the scene where he waited for Bong Soon at the swimming pool in the rain. 진짜 진짜 멋있다.

류진 : Doesn't he remind you of 성시경. 진짜요.
I kept telling myself - same tall frame, same ajumma hairstyle, same gawky smile, pleasant face.....But ..... 류진 can't sing lah. His character as the lonely married and devoted Doctor was so touching. Friends told me that they felt so sad for him because of what he had to go through. I felt the same way at the beginning of the drama. But I am not one who appreciates any inclination towards non-platonic relationships between married persons. So, I got kinda ..... hmm..... weary of their relationship. So, I found myself steering towards 이민기's character midway.
By the way, my daughter is a fan too.
The Gist:
The drama started off as a scene straight from "Which Star Are You" - From the silly names (Bok Shil & Bong Soon), and silly naming of all the domestic animals in the household, to the charming man in distress, and the move from Village to Seoul formula.
But I kinda enjoy Bong Soon's Gangwon-do accent. 아이씨....... she calls 류진's character.
Anyway, Yeo Bong Soon met Dr Jang Jun Won who happens to be the President's married son and saved his life in the village. A bodyguard, Nam Bong Ki, came to fetch Dr Jang back to Seoul. Met Bong Soo but didn't think much of her other than a Country Bumpkin (because she's so dorky.
Bong Soon's grandma passed away and she moved to Seoul. After a series of unfortunate events. she moved in to live with Bong Ki's family - much to his chagrin. Bong Soon started to fall in love with the charnming and kind-hearted Dr Jang, whose wife happens to suffer from a type of dementia (Think "내 머리 속의 지우개"). Against all odds, Dr Jang and Bong Soon decided to remain platonic (yeah, right...)
21 (!) episodes later, the roving-eyed, playboy Bong Ki realised that he was falling in love with the "촌닭" chicken headed, country bumpkin.
That's when the drama started to get REALLY interesting. I am a sucker for chocolate brownies. So, Bong Ki's character happens to be a new breed of such brownies.
If you like light-hearted dramas, have a need to applaud underdogs, loves Daejanggeum, and have LOTS of time at hand, this is the movie to watch.
********************************
I give this drama 5 pop corns for having an interesting plot.
But sitting through 34 episodes can really kill a lot the cells on our bottoms, ESPECIALLY if you're like me - a marathon viewer.
Watch it.
Tip: Buy a really good DVD player for the 34 -hour marathon.

Doesn't this remind you of Bridget Jones' Diary's Cover Shot?
